About

COVARIS is a founder-led clinical trial intelligence company helping sponsors and CROs make relevant external context visible, comparable and decision-relevant.

We translate environmental, geographic, temporal and setting-related context into practical inputs for clinical trial planning, design, clinical evidence generation and interpretation.

Clinical trials are increasingly global, distributed and data-rich, yet relevant external context is not always assessed in a structured or consistent way.

COVARIS was created to change that.

We believe that relevant external context should be made visible early, assessed systematically and translated into practical inputs for clinical trial planning, evidence generation and interpretation.

Ultimately, better-informed evidence generation can support more robust trial decisions and a clearer path from clinical development to patient care.

Founder

COVARIS was founded by Allan Kristensen, who has more than 25 years of experience working across science, technology, innovation and international life-science ecosystems.

His background includes senior roles in science diplomacy, pharmaceutical industry policy, international innovation and cross-border collaboration between companies, universities, authorities and research institutions in Denmark, Europe and the United States.

Before founding COVARIS, he served as Denmark’s Science and Innovation Attaché and Head of Innovation Centre Denmark in Silicon Valley.

He holds an MSc in Technological and Socio-Economic Planning, also known as Sustainability Transitions, with a focus on the interaction between technological, environmental and societal systems.

Specialist input

COVARIS is founder-led and works with selected independent specialists who provide scientific, technical and interpretive input to the company’s development.

The network helps COVARIS test assumptions, strengthen method choices and keep analyses relevant to clinical trial planning, evidence generation, environmental data and sponsor workflows.

Specialists are listed in their personal capacity. Their participation does not represent an endorsement by their organisations, a commercial commitment, or a formal advisory board role.

Meteorology, seasonal forecasting and environmental interpretation

Erik Kristian  Hansen

Erik is Chief Forecaster at the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) and has a background as M.Sc. in Geophysics.

He contributes input on meteorological data, climate variables, seasonal forecasting and environmental interpretation. His expertise helps COVARIS assess how weather patterns, seasonal variation, climate drivers and forecast uncertainty should be understood across geography and time.

This strengthens the scientific and technical quality of COVARIS’ environmental-context work in applied analytical settings relevant to clinical trial planning and evidence generation.

Pharma, healthcare startups and U.S. market perspective

Susanne Hayes

Susanne is Executive Director at Pasadena Angels, part of TCA Venture Group, and has a background from the pharmaceutical industry, including international product project management in diabetes at Novo Nordisk.

In the U.S., she has worked as Marketing Director in a healthcare startup and later as a consultant to healthcare startups. She contributes input on healthcare entrepreneurship, U.S. market perspective, investor readiness and strategic network-building.

This provides COVARIS with a U.S. bridgehead into the life science, healthcare startup and investor ecosystem and helps test how a founder-led specialist service can develop into an internationally scalable business.

Listed in a personal capacity.

COVARIS helps sponsors and CROs make relevant external context visible across trial countries, regions, study windows and selected assessment settings.

COVARIS does not predict outcomes or prove causal effects. It provides external context intelligence for sponsor-led planning, evidence generation and interpretation.
